The name Aventurine, a mineral belonging to the family of quartz, was born because on the surface it presents, in an apparently casual way, some flakes, that is, incrusions of other stones. When in any area there was a lack of precise structure (even if only in appearance), the Italians said “àventure” which meant precisely “at random”. Aventurine was then the inspiration to give its name to a particular green-brown glass born in Murano, towards the first half of the 17th century.

The green aventurine is undoubtedly the most famous. The color is mainly given by the presence of fucsite. However, there is also the red aventurine , known as the sun stone , which owes its characteristic color to the presence of hematite.

Unfortunately, we do not know if in Italy aventurine was already used for therapeutic or protective purposes.

The most interesting legends about Aventurine in this regard come directly from Tibet . In fact, it seems that this crystal was used for the purpose of treating myopia. They also probably believed that it was capable of "giving sight". Assumption born from the fact that the ancient Tibetan statues had aventurine eyes, perhaps to give them the power to watch over man.

A type of quartz which, according to many, was also used because it was considered capable of conferring superior powers, creativity and knowledge.

Aventurine: green stone that protects women

Aventurine, belonging to the group of quartz with the trigolane crystalline system, is a stone with a bright green color. The elements connected to it are water and air. A stone that embodies the highest expression of femininity and intellect , understood both as compassion, love, creativity and the ability to give life to one's ideas. 01

Connected to Anahata, the heart chakra, it is used in crystal therapy to harmonize its energies. It brings serenity and helps the person who wears it to overcome the difficulties that life places before him.

Who is Aventurine for?

Since I started the blog at the end of March, I have talked about two other stones: amethyst and agate. I chose them completely instinctively, without following a "work plan". I only realized when I started writing every single article, and doing some in-depth research, which all belonged to the trigonal crystalline system and therefore, have similar basic characteristics.

Therefore, even Aventurine, just like the other two, is a stone that acts without going through secondary roads. Ideal for those individuals who have made simplicity a lifestyle , who do not particularly like excesses and unnecessary risks. However, it is also perfect for people who do not possess these requirements, but would need to integrate them into their life to achieve balance.

The lotus flower is a very ancient symbol. The main characteristic associated with the lotus flower is purity along with the ability to maintain one's beauty amidst the mud, where the lotus flower is born and lives.

Since ancient times the lotus flower has influenced the cultures of many peoples since ancient Egypt and throughout Asia. In Egyptian culture, for example, the lotus flower was associated with rebirth, in Buddhism the lotus flower is connected to divine purity and enlightenment while in Hinduism the lotus flower is associated with well-being.

The lotus has the particularity of having roots that sink into the mud and of always remaining immaculate despite being in stagnant waters. Therefore the lotus flower in general becomes the symbol of those who manage to remain pure and uncontaminated amidst the difficulties of the world.
